The cruelest thing you can give a man is hope.
And this festive period was full of it, from a Fantasy Premier League point of view at least.
Something needed to change in the Nordic-ing Around FC lineup.
Weeks of languishing amongst the lower echelons of my league, and countless others (14 others…), resulted in risk taking.
Risks you just knew wouldn’t pay off.
So, after Villa started to look a little bit more solid against Newcastle, I duly donned my claret and blue tinted specs and brought in Joleon Lescott and made him my Boxing Day captain…
Yeah, that didn’t work.
Lescott got booked and I was left wondering what 1 doubled would be.
Moving on to Gameweek 19 which, fortunately, came just two days after the Boxing Day debacle.
There’s been a common theme this season, those that have followed my team on YouTube will testify – I try to sacrifice my FPL team so Villa do well.
Well, once again, it didn’t really work.
In came Cameron Jerome.
With room to roam through the floundering Villa defence, I fully expected the former Blue to have a field day.
He was made my captain.
He was benched.
And, to add insult to injury, who’s brought on for a 3 minute cameo?
So, as 2015 comes to a close, here’s how my squad looks…
(It’s a good thing there’s a new wildcard to use, right?)
What changes would you make?
What are your plans for 2016?!
