Welcome back, Premier League football. You have been missed.
But enough small talk. Let’s get down to business and, by business, I mean who to invest your trust in to be captain this week.
Here are some creative contenders:
5. Diego Costa
a) My Triple Captain gamble on the volatile frontman paid off back in Gameweek 9.
b) Chelsea’s shocking form has to come to an end soon.
c) The Blues are at home.
d) Against Norwich.
These ingredients alone should be enough to justify throwing the armband on Diego.
4. Mesut Ozil
Not that there’s ever a ‘safe pick’ when it comes to FPL, but the German could well rack up plenty of points away at West Brom.
The Baggies had a decent run of clean sheets, but that’s now done and dusted (cheers, Leicester), so Arsenal should be looking to capitalise.
3. Gylfi Sigurdsson
Possibly a long shot, but the Swans have a tasty looking fixture (Bournemouth at home), so why not take a gamble and go for Gylfi?
Remember the good old days when Sigurdsson was a sure thing for FPL managers? I reckon those times could be back soon…
2. Christian Eriksen
Despite Denmark’s disappointment at falling foul of Zlatan’s Sweden in the Euro 2016 qualifier, Eriksen should be among the points as Spurs host West Ham.
The Dane is usually the go-to when it comes to Spurs set-pieces and with West Ham there may well be a few Iron-hard tackles flying in and fouls conceded.
1. Romelu Lukaku
Yes, Villa held City to a goalless draw in GW12, but that was just barely. My beloved Villans will be looking to impress Remi Garde, but will more than likely come unstuck against the Toffees.
The big Belgian will be my captain. See.
Who would you pick?
